Academic Paper on Managing Multimedia Production
Author of Paper Entitled “How Did You Manage to Do That?”
Description: Discusses a development process for instructional multimedia developed while at Brigham Young University’s Center for Instructional Design. The paper examines several different processes used by a variety of design and development houses.
My Roles/Contributions: I am sole author of this paper and it’s accompanying PowerPoint presentation. Paper published in the Journal of Interactive Instructional Development, Spring 2002; and, presentation given at S.A.L.T. Conference Summer of 2002 in Alexandria, VA.
Writing: The paper examines the processes of Disney Imagineering, Kristof and Satran’s Interactivity by Design, Clement Mok’s Designing Business, a Stanford University-published project management standard (ESSG Project Management), as well as ideas from former imagineer Bran Ferrin, Strauss, Mike Powell, Laufer, Kelley of IDEO, and others.
